The New England Patriots tied their longest winning run since the Brady period as they overcame AFC East rivals the Jets 27-14 in professional football

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson shone brightly with three touchdowns as the Patriots notched an eight-game winning streak for the first time since legendary quarterback Tom Brady's closing campaign with the team in the 2019 season

Quarterback Maye threw for 281 yards and a score, connecting on 25 of 34 passes

The triumph bolsters the Patriots lead at the summit of the division as they improved to a 9-2 record, with the New York at the foot after dropping to two wins and eight losses

The opposing team had taken the lead at their home field with QB Justin Fields scoring a five-yard touchdown to conclude the Jets' opening drive

But the Patriots responded in the second period as Henderson scored two seven-yard touchdowns before the running back grabbed a reception from Maye at the back of the endzone halfway into the third period to push the score to 21 to 7

"It was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been fantastic for him to keep earning playing time," the quarterback said of Henderson. "He wants to be great."

Justin Fields connected with John Metchie in the latter part of the third period to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Borregales kicked a two field goals in the final period as the Patriots closed out the victory
