Discover 29 Fresh Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)

The world's favorite pizza-loving superheroes are arriving to the popular trading card game. The popular TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special event hosted at NYCC. Could this be a radical addition or yet another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.

Check out here at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with some useful context. Everything listed here releases on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before diving into the many special decks and collections available, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few surprising details. To begin, there's a new mechanic named Sneak Attack, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, in which gamers can cheat big creatures into the battlefield when an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change here is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells as well. The designers also used this chance to clean up the mechanic a little (It counts as playing a spell, as opposed to the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are we'll see the new mechanic in upcoming expansions moving forward.

“If we ever go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that plane is it originated and it is iconic of that world,” a senior designer explained. “But in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and the new ability will be in standard, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four special cards with unique artwork designed specifically for the set by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards outside of your deck, so was I. Yet according to the developers, it’s now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, below are the highly unusual full-art lands from the TMNT set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they were careful to make sure the new cards and mechanics meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for 15 months and we were aware it was going to be Standard-legal and what other sets would be near it in standard,” a lead designer says. “We designed to make sure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet strategy built around artifacts.

“They mesh together to provide the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” the designer says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it includes six different legendary creatures that can serve as your Commander depending on how you pair them (five of the cards include a unique Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command zone instead of only one). Take a look below:

This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise due to popularity. Wizards told that it includes 43 new cards in total, which means an extra thirty-seven Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprints if we assume the deck includes 37 land cards.)

How will the Turtles edition of Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is selling a bundle. It costs $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 15 Foil basic lands
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Traditional foil promotional card
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • One storage box

Pizza Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • One Premium Booster
  • 25 Regular pizza lands
  • 5 Foil pizza basic lands
  • Two Foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • One storage box

For those curious about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s basically a reprinted older card with all-new TMNT art. Wizards showed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling toppings onto a pizza slice. There are six different pizza promos available.

This special bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is made for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Play Boosters (the perfect amount a group of four to draft)
  • One Collector Booster (also known as, the prize for winning)
  • Ninety Non-foil land cards (to build your deck)
  • 10 Regular double-sided tokens
  • One drafting guide (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Lastly, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to develop Magic products aimed at beginners. In this case, the cooperative set is a unique product of decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The general idea is that each Boss card gives special abilities to the creatures included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card each turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
