Aircraft Spins Out of Control into Palm Trees at Well-Known California Beach
A chopper soaring near a well-attended southern California coastline abruptly started spinning uncontrollably, finally losing altitude and plunging into a line of palm groves as spectators watched.
Recordings uploaded on the internet show the chopper commencing to spiral over the shoreline then plunging near the perimeter of the beach, where it gets stuck amidst palm groves and a steps near the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders stated five persons were taken to hospital involving two individuals who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the crash on that day.
Three persons on the pavement were hurt. Information on their wounds were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
